Curious about Coaching?

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to bloom.”

– Anaïs Nin

I help people who are in the midst of change, whether embracing your inner artist, making a job change, transitioning from being a stay-at-home mom to finding a job, or wanting self care to be routine.

Change comes from taking action.

I nurture, motivate and ask thought-provoking questions.

My motto is to “Take tiny steps towards what you love and you never know where it may lead.”

Many of us have a project inside us– a book to write, art to create, stories to share, but we hold back for many reasons.

Self doubt, fear or old pictures we have of ourselves keep us from moving ahead with changes we want to make in our lives.

Not pursuing what we loves comes at a high price.

You may be someone who for much of your life you’ve kept quiet about your artistic dreams, not shared your work, or pursued what you really desired. And not because you didn’t feel creative. There are so many different reasons why we don’t follow our artistic pursuits. Perhaps you have chosen the *right* job because that felt easier than taking the risks to do what you really wanted.

Through coaching, I invite clients to step towards who they want to be on the outside to mirror the feelings and desires they have on the inside. We identify what obstacles you feel exist, and then discover new ways of taking steps forward. Sometimes it feels like you’ve been zigzagging. I understand this as I haven’t followed a linear path myself.

In coaching, my role is being your supportive guide.

I have always been a “seeker” and feel at home listening to authors, poets, philosophers, artists. In addition to my degrees and jobs I’ve had, the workshops I’ve participated in, or lectures I’ve attended have additionally deeply influenced my work. These include:

James Baraz’s two-day meditation retreat in Morro Bay (2015); Kim Klassen & Xanthe Berkeley’s “Gather Photography Retreat in Los Angeles (2014)” ; Andrea Scher & Laurie Wagner’s “Opening the Creative Channel” weekend retreat in Alameda (2013).

In person, I’ve attended talks by Natalie Goldberg, David Whyte, SARK (Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy), Mary Oliver, Pema Chodron, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Thich Nhat Hanh, Eric Maisel, Rick Hanson, and Shiva Rea at Esalen.
