I love the idea of looking back to where I stood, almost a year ago on this very day. At that time, I was taking another photography class, and took these photos where I assembled them together online to create layers. I didn’t really know what I was doing but I was drawn to the textures — in the dying artichoke plant that was in my back vegetable garden with its pointy points, and the purple spiky chives that I planted to harvest for my salads but never did.

I love to see the beauty that once was there, the beauty that exists today, and look forward to what there is to capture tomorrow…
