sometimes as we visit this wonderful summer place, we are in the house, talking logistics and our “to do” list and what needs to be done. and here, before us is this magnificent lake. my husband reminds me, we need to get away from the list of “doing” and step down this familiar path, letting our toes sink into the soft sand, letting our woes drop away, letting ourselves come back to the way we are supposed to feel, the way that is. sinking our toes into this soft sand, this is where my heart opens, my breathing slows down, my thoughts of the “to do” list drift away, even if it’s just for a short while…

This afternoon as I picked fresh peaches from my backyard, from the only peach tree I’ve ever had, I recalled this moment back in February, where I took this photo and then wrote down in my journal:

I love this time of year when…

our fruit trees are in bloom…

and the buds are slowly opening

to reveal their quiet grace.

I’m so grateful for online photography classes. I loved the class by Susannah Conway, Blogging From The Heart…This course is helping me discover that we each have our own unique blogging voice, and the importance of writing for oneself, not for an audience. Or perhaps it is a bit of both…We learn that we can adjust a bit, edit accordingly, but not lose sight of what feels right and comfortable for us. In my case, since this blog is still so new, I may not have any readers yet, but it’s fun to post regardless, like an online journal. Hello reader! Hello world! Thank you for being here…
