For the lovely Vivienne McMaster’s new class, Re-writing the Story, from the You Are Your Own Muse class, I was motivated to get out my larger camera and work on some new selflies. Lately I’ve been shooting mostly with my iPhone since I’m so loving Instagram.. But I need to keep shooting with my other cameras, too. Just getting out into nature, setting up a tripod, using the remote – oh what fun and how freeing this can be. And as I had been lamenting the loss of the Picnik, Vivienne suggested the class try editing with the online free program called PicMonkey. I created the clone and texture using this program.

Inspired by one of my local heroes, I’ve grown beautiful sweet peas. And the best thing about growing them, is picking bouquets, and giving them away. For Mother’s Day, for a teacher, a neighbor, a friend’s mom…We have enough to share. And sharing any kind of freshly picked flower from the garden feels so good..

This is the place I adore. And it’s a spot where my husband and I grab a tea/coffee/chai/carrot cake/lunch/dessert..It’s where we’ve met families over the years as our kids have been little, my daughter used to wander and run around this beautiful back patio with her pals. It’s where i’ve had business meetings, brainstorming ways our non-profit helps our community, it’s where students study, my friend does a storytelling event, my other friend- a singer, performs here. Art events, music, fundraisers and more. This is my meeting spot.
